Operate as a player-coach: build the franchise close playbook, write the demo script, shape franchise messaging with marketing, feed product insights from the field, and help hire AE #2.
Hit ramp benchmarks of $80–120K in new ARR closed per month.
Direct experience selling into franchise systems (required, hard requirement) — software or services sold to multi-unit franchisees, franchisor corporate teams, or franchise HR/ops leaders. You know how a franchisee buys differently from a franchisor, and how budget and veto power move across a franchise system.
3–5 years of full-cycle B2B SaaS closing, with at least one tour selling into SMB or mid-market franchise/multi-location operators.
A track record you can substantiate with specifics — top-decile performance (President's Club, top-of-leaderboard, or measurable outperformance) backed by real numbers you can walk through. (We care that your numbers are real and you own them — not that you can recite every quarter from memory.)
Founding-AE / early-sales-hire experience where you built process, not just executed someone else's.
Exceptional written and verbal communication — able to run a demo for a franchisee and negotiate an MSA with a franchisor HR leader in the same afternoon.
Fluency with the modern AI-native sales stack and opinions on trade-offs (Gong/Chorus, Outreach/Salesloft, Clay, Apollo, Sales Navigator, HubSpot/Salesforce, AI agent platforms).
Comfort defining your own process without managerial direction; bias to action, obsession with detail, thick skin.
Franchise-development or franchisor-side experience — having sold franchises themselves, worked in franchise development, or operated as a franchise owner/operator. (This is the adjacency that makes a great franchise AE — you understand the buyer because you've been on their side of the table.)
An existing network of franchise operators or franchise HR leaders who'd take your call.
