Murambi Health Center is a public health facility located in Murambi Sector, Rulindo District, Northern Province, Rwanda. It provides essential healthcare services to the local community under the framework of the Rwandan national health system. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services to the community of Murambi Sector while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with national health policies. Murambi Health Center is seeking a dedicated and qualified Biomedical Laboratory Technician to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role sits at Grade 7.II/9.II and reports directly to the Head of the Health Center. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering accurate, confidential, and high-quality laboratory services to patients and clinicians, while contributing to the overall quality improvement efforts of the health center. Patient Care: Receive and orient clients in the laboratory; receive and assess samples from services; process samples in accordance with technical norms; ensure patient results are handled with the highest standards of confidentiality; may replace the Head of Lab in his/her absence; participate in capacity building; verify all critical results before submission to clinicians (e.g., HIV positive results). Data Management: Ensure all examinations performed are recorded; ensure that data collection tools (registers) are correctly used and maintained up to date. Inventory Management: Establish inventory of equipment; make requisitions of equipment and supplies for the laboratory; ensure equipment and supplies are used rationally; report equipment loss or damage to the Head of Lab. Patient Education: Participate in health education of patients. Quality Improvement and Customer Care: Comply with policies, protocols, and guidelines in place; ensure compliance with customer care norms. General Responsibilities: Uphold the health center's core values; ensure effective communication with colleagues; participate in health center staff meetings; promote team working; respect norms specified in the employment and motivation contract; carry out any other professional activity assigned by the hierarchy. At least A1 or A2 in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences No prior experience required Must be licensed with the Rwanda Allied Health Professionals Council Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Rwandan Health System and reporting requirements Strong planning and organizational skills Creative, proactive, customer-focused, solutions-led, and outcome-driven approach Effective interpersonal and communication skills Time management skills Computer skills Sound judgment and decision-making skills Complex problem-solving skills Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English, and/or French; knowledge of all three is an advantage Candidates must hold a valid license from the Rwanda Allied Health Professionals Council. No additional trainings are required beyond the stated educational qualifications.
