Key Responsibilities

  • Greet every guest within 5 seconds of approach with a warm, genuine welcome

  • Take orders accurately at the register, on the tablet POS, and at the drive-thru/pickup window

  • Suggest add-ons (a fresh muffin with that latte? a bag of beans for home?) to drive average ticket

  • Process cash, credit, gift card, and mobile payments; balance your drawer at end of shift

  • Communicate special instructions clearly to the bar and kitchen team

  • Restock front-of-house items: pastries in the case, cups, lids, napkins, condiments, retail coffee bags

  • Maintain a clean, presentation-ready front counter, pastry case, and customer area at all times

  • Handle customer concerns with patience and a solution-first mindset; escalate when needed

  • Follow all food safety, allergen, and cash-handling protocols

  • Pitch in where the team needs you — bussing tables, restocking, drink runner, whatever the rush demands

Qualifications

  • 16+ years old (varies by state law)

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends, early mornings, and holidays

  • Comfortable handling cash and operating a POS / tablet system

  • Strong English communication; bilingual a plus

  • Able to stand for 6–8 hours and lift up to 25 lbs

  • Food handler's permit (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)

  • Preferred: 6+ months prior experience in QSR, café, or retail customer-facing role

  • Preferred: Familiarity with espresso menu terminology

  • Preferred: Experience with online order pickup workflows (mobile app, third-party tablets)
